Most systems manufactured by USL are large multi-axis units, but we do not forget small scale units for laboratory and research and development applications. Two such systems have been delivered in recent weeks. One is a 3 axis immersion unit (pictured) for research into novel ultrasonic techniques for a noted aerospace company in UK.
A second is a combined through transmission squirter and pulse echo immersion system for an aerospace manufacturer in the Asia-Pacific region. Whilst this is a small and relatively simple system, it has a full capability for scanning and data acquisition at frequencies from 0.5 to 35MHz in both linear and logarithmic modes. Consequently it can inspect a wide range of composite structures in monolithic and honeycomb materials.
